Breaking: Petrol Hiked by Rs. 136.83 & Diesel by Rs. 184.14 in Pakistan 2026 – New Prices Out Now!

Islamabad, April 3, 2026 – In a major development that has shocked millions of Pakistanis, the government has announced a sharp increase in fuel prices. Petrol and diesel rates have jumped significantly due to rising global oil prices amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

New Petrol and Diesel Prices in Pakistan (Effective April 3, 2026)

  • Petrol (Motor Spirit): Now Rs 458.41 per litre (Increase of approximately Rs 137 per litre)
  • High Speed Diesel (HSD): Now Rs 520.35 per litre (Increase of approximately Rs 184.5 per litre)

These new rates will apply across all provinces including Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Balochistan, and Azad Kashmir.

Why Fuel Prices Increased So Much in Pakistan?

The massive hike comes after global crude oil prices surged in the last few days. Experts point to instability in the Middle East and supply concerns as the main reasons. The government says it had no choice but to pass on part of the increase to keep the Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL) and Pakistan State Oil (PSO) financially stable.

This is the second big fuel price jump in just a few weeks. In March 2026, prices had already gone up by around Rs 55 per litre.

How This Hike Will Affect Everyday Pakistanis

Transport fares are expected to rise immediately in cities like Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi. Rickshaw, taxi, and bus drivers have already started demanding higher rates.

Common people are worried about:

  • Higher costs of daily travel
  • Increase in prices of vegetables, milk, and other essentials
  • Extra burden on monthly budgets for middle-class families

What Should You Do Now?

If you own a car or bike, it’s better to fill up your tank before midnight tonight if possible. Keep an eye on official notifications from the Ministry of Finance and Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) for any further updates.

The government has promised to review prices again in the next 15 days and may give some relief if international oil rates come down.
